Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 10, 2025

1. Introduction

Trimless for Gmail™ V3 ("we," "our," or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension operates and our approach to data handling.

2. Data Collection and Processing

2.1 No Data Collection

Trimless for Gmail™ V3 does NOT collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. The Extension operates entirely locally within your browser and does not:

  • Access your email content beyond what is necessary for display modification
  • Store any information about your emails or browsing activity
  • Transmit any data to external servers
  • Track your usage or behavior
  • Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
  • Collect analytics or telemetry data

2.2 How the Extension Works

The Extension modifies the display of Gmail™ messages in your browser by automatically expanding clipped messages. All processing happens locally on your device. No data leaves your browser, other than your payment information via ExtPay/Stripe.

3. GDPR Compliance

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we acknowledge the following:

  • Data Controller: For the Extension's core functionality, we do not act as a data controller as no personal data is processed. For payment processing, we act as a data controller jointly with Stripe.
  • Legal Basis: Payment data processing is based on contract performance (to process your payment) and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, customer support).
  • Data Subject Rights: You have comprehensive rights regarding your payment data as outlined in Section 13 of this policy.
  • Data Protection Officer: Contact us at support@trimlessforgmail.com for data protection inquiries.

4. Permissions

4.1 Required Permissions

The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions to function:

  • Host Permission for mail.google.com: Required to modify the display of Gmail™ pages
  • Host Permission for https://extensionpay.com/*: Required to allow payment via ExtPay/Stripe
  • Storage: Used only to store user preferences (e.g., extension settings) locally on your device

These permissions are used solely for the Extension's functionality and not for data collection or tracking.

5. Payment Processing with Stripe

5.1 Data Collection for Payments

If you choose to purchase a premium version or make a payment related to Trimless for Gmail™ V3, payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor, via the ExtPay extension (https://extensionpay.com/).

Data Shared with Stripe: When you make a payment, the following personal data is shared with Stripe for transaction processing purposes:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Payment card information (credit/debit card number, expiration date, CVV)
  • Billing address
  • Transaction amount and details

5.2 Stripe's Privacy Practices

Stripe is responsible for processing and securing your payment information. Stripe's use of your personal data is governed by its own privacy policy, which you can review at: https://stripe.com/privacy

We encourage you to review Stripe's privacy policy to understand how they collect, use, store, and protect your payment information.

5.3 Security and Compliance

All payment data is transmitted securely using industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS). Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification in the payments industry. This means:

  • Payment card information is encrypted during transmission
  • Stripe complies with PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards)
  • We never store or have direct access to your complete payment card details
  • All payment processing infrastructure meets strict security requirements

5.4 Your Consent

By making a payment through our Extension, you explicitly consent to:

  • The collection and sharing of your payment information with Stripe
  • Stripe processing your payment data according to their privacy policy and terms of service
  • The secure transmission of your data to Stripe's servers

For EU Users: If you are located in the European Union, your payment data may be transferred to and processed by Stripe in the United States or other countries where Stripe operates. By proceeding with a payment, you provide explicit consent for this international data transfer. Stripe implements appropriate safeguards to protect your data in accordance with GDPR requirements.

5.5 Data Retention

We retain only minimal transaction records necessary for:

  • License verification
  • Customer support
  • Legal and accounting compliance
  • Fraud prevention

Complete payment details are stored and managed exclusively by Stripe according to their data retention policies.

6. Other Third-Party Services

Apart from Stripe for payment processing, Trimless for Gmail™ V3 does not integrate with, communicate with, or share data with any other third-party services or analytics platforms.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). The free version of the Extension can be used by individuals of all ages as no data is collected. For payment transactions, users must be of legal age to enter into binding contracts in their jurisdiction.

8. Data Security

We take data security seriously and implement the following measures:

  • Extension Operations: All Extension functionality operates locally within your browser's secure environment

  • PCI-DSS Compliance: Payment processing complies with PCI-DSS standards through Stripe
  • No Data Storage: We do not store complete payment card details on our servers

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission
  • Compliance with GDPR requirements for international transfers
  • Adequate data protection measures in all jurisdictions

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
